The Lord is not slow in doing what he promised — the way some people understand slowness. But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives. (2 Peter 3. 9)
Have you recently walked a route you would normally take in the car or on the bus? You can notice a lot more because you are moving more slowly and have a chance to look around – the texture of the tiles on the roofs or the subtle colours of the wintry sunlight on the gardens.
Advent offers us a chance to pay close attention to people, our surroundings, and to God. Sometimes we have to slow down in order to see what God is really doing in and around us.
How might God be giving you a chance to change your heart and life during this season of Advent?
How could you slow down this week and notice what God is doing?
