Do you turn to Christ?
This morning we are thrilled to have a service of baptism by immersion.
It is always a great joy to hear stories of what God is up to amongst us. The Holy Spirit is at work today within each of our lives, offering us opportunities to respond to God's gift of new life. Being baptised, or publicly renewing our commitment to following Jesus, is a powerful way of saying that we want to live our lives differently from now on. In response to all that God has done for us in Jesus, we offer ourselves and all we have back to God.
'Having faith' isn't just about knowing some facts or ticking some boxes. It's about trusting a person - Jesus. It's about trusting that Jesus is who he said he was and that he did what the Bible (and other historical sources) say he did. Jesus' life, death and resurrection offer a path to new and abundant life, and freedom from all that weighs us down. Turning to Christ doesn't mean that all our problems suddenly disappear, but rather that we have a completely different perspective on the whole of life.
Who do you say Jesus is?
