This week, Steve writes:
What do you think of when you hear the word ‘saint’?
Maybe it’s one of the great Bible characters like St Paul? Or Mother Theresa or even St Frideswide, the patron saint of Oxford and the one our church is named after!
These and other saints stand out as people who have lived their lives in such a way that God seems to be shining through them.
In the Bible, ‘saints’ is used to describe anyone who follows Jesus. That’s how St Paul greeted the church in Rome, ‘To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints.’
All Saints Day is an opportunity for us to remember all who have walked faithfully before us, those who, by example, have guided and helped us grow in our faith.
Who has been an inspirational saint to you?
In what ways have they helped you become a saint?
How might God shine through you this week?
