Come, Holy Spirit!

Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' (Acts 2:38)

This Sunday we celebrate God's great gift of the Holy Spirit to the church at Pentecost, and at St Frideswide's we also celebrate with those who will be baptised in our morning service.

God is at work in our lives, in the church and in the world today. It is possible to know the power and presence of God day by day. The Holy Spirit speaks, accompanies, empowers, equips, comforts, encourages and grants peace. Poured out on all God's people, without a single exception, the Holy Spirit 'baptises' Christians to know the love and reality of God in their lives.

If you are yet to experience this for yourself why not pray simply for the next couple of weeks: ‘Lord, help me know Jesus better, and fill me with your Holy Spirit’. See what happens, share your reflections with a friend or perhaps pray with someone as you journey on this adventure of faith.
