Serving the least...
'Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me' Matt 25. 40
The parable of the Sheep and the Goats in Matthew 25 is a wake up call to those who think they've done enough and know enough to be acceptable to God - and to those who think it matters only what you believe and not what you do.
Jesus' words challenge us to consider every encounter with a stranger or someone in need as a chance to serve not only them, but him.
This Sunday we hear from Keith, whose passion and commitment to local people in need has driven the work of Crosslinks for many years. Crosslinks is an umbrella under which our two fellowships here at Water Eaton Church Centre can join in local ministry and outreach.
There are long established groups such as Monday Lunch Club, Friday morning Teddy Tots and Friday Club (drop in for those with learning difficulties), as well as emerging opportunities such as the Winter Night Shelter, MK Money Lifeline (debt and budgeting advice), Tots Football and The Mix (a drop in well-being cafe).
How, as a church and as individuals, could we better serve those Jesus calls 'the least'?
As we look to the future, could you join in with any of our Crosslinks projects? Find out more from Keith, Catherine or Kay.
