God's love made complete
’…if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.’ 1 John 4.12
We continue our three-part series on Sunday mornings looking at themes from the Toy Story movies. This week Ian writes:
In a highly emotional scene towards the end of Toy Story 3, the toys find themselves heading towards an incinerator in a rubbish dump. Facing certain death they reach out their hands towards each other to offer comfort and support, before they are dramatically saved!
They offer compassion not only to one another, but also to Lotso, the bear who pushed them into the dump.
As Christians we are called to offer love and compassion not only to each other, but to those who are apparently unloveable, as well as those who we disagree with - as it says in 1 John 4, by doing so, we are making God's love complete in us.
This is quite a challenge - how might God help you meet it?
