Formal Licensing of Revd Steve Hallett as our Associate Minister
Our morning service on Sunday 15th January saw the formal licensing of Revd Steve Hallett as our Associate Minister by Alan Wilson, the Bishop of Buckingham. We are delighted that thanks to generous funding from the C of E's Strategic Development Fund, via the Diocese of Oxford, that Steve will be staying on team at St Frideswide's for another 3 years.
He will be helping to establish our role within the Diocese as a Resourcing Hub for Community Organising and Church Growth, integrating community organising approaches and tools into our church life and community relationships.
It was great to have Bishop Alan, Archdeacon Guy Elsmore, Tim Norwood our Area Dean and so many friends from the community with us for worship. Steve shared his conviction that God shows his love for us by sending Jesus into the world as it is, to show us the world as it should be. We are invited to join in this work, and community organising is an exciting and fun way of doing this which fits so well with our faith convictions.
Watch out for opportunities for training and finding out more in the coming months, and do get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
