A Kind of Sleepwalking

….and waking up to life

…wake up to life

Our spiritual life is always in need of transformation but it is only ever possible when we wake up and come to terms with what we see; then we start to be able to discern God's reality and God's way.
Good times and bad times, all times which shake us awake can begin to integrate us into the real life of God.

Are you sleepwalking through life…?
We can sleepwalk in many different stages of our lives... young adults drift through their 20s or 30s postponing life's key decisions and waiting for responsibility and real life to begin.

In midlife, people who are under pressure in work and family life sleepwalk in a different way: we can ignore the really important things because we are on a treadmill.

The years simply pass us by.

In later life, our minds and senses easily become dull, we become uncritical consumers, our hearts and consciences are hardened, we no longer hear the voice of God and we grow into less than we could be. (Bishop Steven, foreword to A kind of sleepwalking)
