Celebration of Community Organising in Water Eaton
On Saturday 25th March we hosted our second annual community organising morning at Water Eaton Church Centre. This was a chance to hear stories of how the St Frideswide's Resourcing Hub is progressing and consider what our upcoming opportunities might be. We also took the opportunity to connect with friends old and new from around MK - all who long to see more effective democratic action for the common good in our communities.
We are grateful to the Diocese of Oxford for their continuing investment and support, and to Keith Hebden, Thames Valley Community Organiser for his thoughtful and inspiring reflection around Amos 5: Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
What does it mean to 'do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God'? (Micah 6.8) This is what we are grappling with during these uncertain times - we pray that the Spirit of God will inspire, guide and sustain us as we do so.
