MK50 City Plan
The MK50 City plan is in circulation and open for consultation! You may know this already and may have filled in online forms sharing your views about the next stage of the development of Milton Keynes. We at Water Eaton Church centre had a unique opportunity to engage with the public consultation through workshops that were delivered at WECC. On Friday 20th September, I, together with a couple of regular users of WECC, spent some time watching and listening to the result of the workshop consultations. And the viewing was celebratory! The main reason for this was that WECC users and their views featured highly in the consultation: our voices were amplified. This means that the individual voices of people who belong to our faith-based community and the residents of Bletchley who use WECC, have managed to find a ‘seat around the table’ to influence the process: MK City Plan 2050. We were given the chance to stand up and say that the world is not the way it should be, we want it to be different. A special thanks go to those who participated in the workshops and interviews – Elaine regular attendee at Soup for the Soul, Denise another regular attendee at Soup for the Soul, Gareth from Spurgeon’s church, Emma from Spurgeon’s church and lastly, Caroline from Tea and Toast who attended the results evening.
