Rev. Lewis speaks about the liberation of children for YouthWork+ Podcast

Our curate Lewis was invited to be a guest on the YouthWork+ Podcast, to discuss children and youth work in churches, but also share findings from his recent research into the liberation of children. The recording covers a variety of topics including; how society and church can unconsciously oppress children, Jesus' indignation at sternness towards children, auditing your church for how welcoming you are for families, and recognising the spiritual potential of children.

As a flavour of the things discussed, Lewis asked the host Becky, "If (on a Sunday) the preacher said "I haven't prepared anything so let's not bother (with a sermon) this week". If that would elicit a feeling in you, that isn't the same feeling when children's provision isn't there. Why?"

If you have a thought about this question then do give the podcast a listen.

YouthWork+ is a charity that supports, equips, and encourages local church leaders and volunteers involved in children's and youth ministry, offering training, resources, networks, and advice to strengthen existing work and inspire new initiatives.
