Invitation to Iftar

On Saturday, the 29th of March Gill, Pat, Nudrat and I accepted the invitation to attend Iftar to celebrate the end of Ramadan and the breaking of the fast.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim women’s Association extended this invitation as a way of strengthening Community bonds. It was a lovely evening spent chatting with the ladies who answered numerous questions to help us understand the significance of Ramadan to the Muslim Community.

Celebrating the Iftar provided an excellent opportunity to get to know each other in an informal way during a formal event, we had a wonderful time and met some lovely ladies Nudrat and I spent the latter part of the evening chatting with the son of one of the ladies, He was a beautiful young soul.

I think we all benefited greatly from the evening and we hope that moving forward both the community of St Frideswide’s and the Ahmadiyya women’s Muslim association will have a closer relationship as fear of the unknown is a great barrier.
